Researcher's night 2025 - BRI participation

The Biomedical Research Institute of FORTH (BRI-FORTH) participated in this year’s Researchers’ Night 2025 in Herakleion, Crete, presenting two interactive exhibits that brought cutting-edge science closer to the public.

“The Invisible Becomes Visible” – Ultrastructure Expansion Microscopy (U-ExM): Visitors discovered how biological samples can be expanded up to four times, transforming ordinary microscopic images into high-resolution views of the inner architecture of cells. The exhibit combined U-ExM images with a playful, interactive exploration space.

“Understanding the Human Brain for Personalized Therapies”: A hands-on experience featuring videos, interactive stations, 3D-printed models of the brain and organoids, lab equipment, and educational materials. Visitors had the chance to learn how BRI-FORTH researchers study the human brain using advanced cellular models, aiming to pave the way for future personalized therapies.

The event provided an inspiring opportunity to engage with people of all ages, highlighting how biomedical research translates into knowledge and solutions for human health.
