Το εργαστήριό μας μελετάει τους μοριακούς μηχανισμούς που επάγουν την ανθεκτικότητα σε εντομοκτόνα. Στόχοι μας είναι:
•    Η κατανόηση του πώς συγκεκριμένες μεταλλαγές και ρύθμιση γονιδίων διαμορφώνουν φαινότυπους ανθεκτικότητας σε φυσικούς πληθυσμούς
•    Η διερεύνηση  συνεργιστικών αλληλεπιδράσεων μεταξύ διαφορετικών μηχανισμών και της επίπτωσής τους στην αρμοστικότητα
•   Η ανίχνευση νέων μηχανισμών ανθεκτικότητας και η ανάπτυξη εφαρμογών στην κατεύθυνση της εύρεσης εν δυνάμει νέων δραστικών ουσιών και συνεργιστών
Εργαζόμαστε με το σύστημα μοντέλο της Δροσόφιλας και με καλλιέργειες κυττάρων εντόμων και χρησιμοποιηούμε τεχνικές μοριακής βιολογίας, προσεγγίσεις -ομικής, γονιδιωματική τροποποίηση CRISPR/Cas9 και λειτουργική έκφραση πρωτεϊνών. Προσβλέπουμε στην ανάπτυξη ενός συνεργατικού δικτύου επιστημονικών αλληλεπιδράσεων που θα προωθεί την επιστημονική πρόοδο και την απεύθυνση στην κοινωνία.
