Biography
Thomais Papamarcaki is a member of BRI-FORTH since 2005. She has graduated from the Chemistry Department of the University of Thessaloniki (1980) and obtained her PhD from the University of Ioannina (1998). She worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Cell Biology Program at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany and as visiting scientist and the Gene Expression Program (EMBL). Since 2006 she has been working as an Associate Professor at the Medical School, University of Ioannina. Her recent research interests include the study of the physiological roles of chromatin remodelers in gene expression and embryonic development.
