Το εργαστήριο μας εστιάζει την έρευνά του στη διερεύνηση της αλληλεπίδρασης μεταξύ των μηχανισμών ενδοκυττάρωσης και της μεταγωγής σημάτων από αυξητικούς παράγοντες. Μελετούμε το ρόλο των μελών της οικογένειας του αυξητικού παράγοντα μετασχηματισμού TGFβ (TGFβ, Activin A και BMP4), καθώς και του αγγειακού ενδοθηλιακού αυξητικού παράγοντα VEGF στα ενδοθηλιακά κύτταρα. Επίσης, στόχος μας είναι η μελέτη της επίδρασης της σηματοδότησης και της ενδοκυτταρικής διακίνησης στη διατήρηση της πολυδυναμίας τόσο των ανθρώπινων εμβρυϊκών βλαστικών κυττάρων (hESCs) όσο και των επαναπρογραμματισμένων βλαστικών κυττάρων (hiPSCs). Επιπρόσθετα, πρόθεσή μας είναι η μελέτη του ρόλου των οδών ενδοκυττάρωσης κατά τη διαφοροποίηση των βλαστικών κυττάρων. Τέλος, χρησιμοποιούμε εμβρυϊκά, επαναπρογραμματισμένα βλαστικά και ώριμα ενδοθηλιακά κύτταρα για την ανακάλυψη μεταφραστικών στόχων που σχετίζονται με την αγγειογένεση στο καρκίνο και την αναγεννητική ιατρική.
